Piano Recitals

Are Piano Recitals Required?

Performing for an audience can be a beneficial tool, encouraging students to practice. Many piano teachers require students to perform during annual recitals for this reason. Unfortunately, for many students recitals create unwarranted stress as student performances are critiqued and compared.

There are no piano recitals.

Because of this, at Hillside Music, we provide several suggestions for giving children the opportunity to play for others in a less threatening environment. First, we offer cybercitals for those who desire to record their music, making it available online or in CD format.

Second, we encourage parents to provide opportunities for their children to use their piano skills to bless others. A number of our students have been able to play for the enjoyment of their church family during a church program of some type. Others use their talents to bring joy to the residents of nursing homes or retirement centers.

What are Cybercitals?

Cybercitals are digital recordings students make during their piano lessons at Hillside Music. Students at our Goodlettsville studio are able to create their cybercitals during their piano lesson time. Click here to learn more about our cybercitals.

What our clients
are saying...

David is the most patient and creative teacher you could ever find. He does a wonderful job, teaching [the boys] how to read and create music as well as play it. The man has the patience of JOB! Just can't say enough good about him and his style of teaching!"

--Lorette
